Somatic Pilates Reformer Teacher Training 2024: Integrating Applied Polyvagal Theory

Welcome to our Somatic Pilates Reformer Teacher Training, where we fuse the principles of somatic movement with traditional Pilates techniques, all underpinned by the insights of Applied Polyvagal Theory. Our programme is designed for aspiring instructors seeking to deeply understand the mind-body connection and lead transformative reformer Pilates classes.

This 100-hours course consists of 48 hours of in-person module training, 19 hours of practicum and assessment, and 33 hours of self-paced observation, self-practice and teaching practice. After completing this course, you can then choose to take an examination to get your national certification title. Graduates of this course may also be offered the career opportunity to be Hello Body's in-house teacher.

This is not a course where you will learn to simply memorise knowledge and tactics and apply them onto your clients. In this course, you will learn to open up your awareness to some of the what's and why's on how people choose to do things in certain ways. You will hone your ability to assess, adapt, and problem-solve as you begin your journey as a Somatic Pilates Reformer teacher.

Join us on this immersive journey to become a skilled teacher of Somatic Pilates Reformer, where you'll empower others to move with grace, strength, and mindful awareness.

About the trainer, Charis Koh

Charis Koh is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of movement. Over the past 12 years, she has dedicated herself to sharing the love of movement through teaching groups and coaching individuals on a personal level. With a client-centric approach, she not only trains people but also empowers them with the tools and knowledge to take control of their own physical health and fitness goals.

One of Charis's core beliefs is that movement is for everyone, regardless of age or starting point. She firmly believes in the inclusivity of movement, and she enjoys working with absolute beginners who are embarking on their own movement journey. Whether it's coaching for better performance in activities like climbing, dancing, or playing tennis/golf, or providing post-injury rehabilitation and managing long-term physical health conditions such as Scoliosis and Osteopenia, Charis is dedicated to helping individuals move with greater ease, fluidity, and confidence.

Charis emphasises that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to movement and healing. Having experienced similar results through various methods, she believes that it is a matter of choice and precise timing. She is committed to journeying with individuals on their healing path, discovering more about themselves in the process.

Charis's approach to her work reflects her deep curiosity, open-mindedness, and grounding. She values authenticity and recognises the interconnectedness between disciplines and modalities. By exploring this relationship, she discovers practical and simple solutions to seemingly complex issues, acting as a bridge between science and art.

The collective wisdom of Charis's experiences is woven into everything she practices and offers to her clients through her platform, Hello Body. As she enters a new phase of her work, she aspires to guide and mentor aspiring Movement and Pilates teachers, sharing her 12 years of experience, acting as a guide, sounding board, and cheerleader.
